Who is eligible?

To be eligible for full consideration, applicants must:

• Complete all sections of the application legibly and sign section G
• Own and be a full-time resident of the home that is requested to be repaired; the home must be located in Lackawanna County
• Be current on homeowners insurance premiums
• Provide “sweat equity” by working alongside volunteers
• Be able to subsidize some costs for materials, possibly; volunteer labor is provided at no cost
• Clearly identify the home repairs and work being requested (work covered by homeowners insurance policies will not be considered.)
• Plan to live in the home for at least five years
• Demonstrate financial need, as determined by the Lackawanna County median income. Your annual household income must also be no greater than the following amount, based on your family size:
  • 1 Person          $23,800
  • 2 People          $27,200
  • 3 People          $30,600
  • 4 People          $34,000
  • 5 People          $36,700
  • 6 People          $39,400
  • 7 People          $42,200
  • 8 People          $44,900
